Pudding Cottage is ideally situated for the very best that North Norfolk has to offer. The picturesque coastal villages of Blakeney, Cley-next-the-sea, Morston and Wells-next-the-sea are not much more that 10 minutes from the cottage.
This beautiful corner of North Norfolk has something for everyone and here are just a few of our favorite places…
Seaside
The North Norfolk coastline has some of the best beaches in Britain, during the summer months the beach at Wells-next-the-sea with its miles of white sand and pretty beach huts is the perfect place to take a bucket and spade and the whole family. Even on a busy summers day you can escape the crowds with a visit to Holkham Beach, miles of white sand fringed by pine woods and wide open skies, this beach is breathtaking even in deepest winter, a perfect place for a good long dog walk.
Bird Watching
The NNT Bird Reserve at Cley-next-the-sea is a ‘mecca’ for birders and twitchers alike, you could easily spend a whole week here - and people do! Well worth a visit even if birds are not your ‘thing’, the walk through the marshes with Cley windmill in the background and the sea crashing in is amazing.
Places to Visit
North Norfolk has more than its fair share of historical houses, estates and churches with Blickling Hall, Sandringham, Holkham Hall and Felbrigg all within very easy reach of Pudding Cottage and all open to the public. Less than an hour away is the Cathedral and castle in Norwich, take a walk or bus tour to enjoy this delightful City. The religious centre of Walsingham with its Shrines welcomes thousands of Pilgrims each year and is only 10 minutes from the cottage.
If shopping is for you don’t miss a visit to the pretty Georgian towns of Holt and Burnham Market, just over 10 minutes from the cottage you will find a great variety of individual boutiques, shops, galleries and gift shops.
